Is Kecleon in Pokémon GO’s 2022: When 2022 is finally here, games like Pokemon have begun releasing information on their plans and strategies for next year?
Pokemon Game of the Day is already having plenty happening. A lot is happening.
Season of Heritage is in full swing and will include the New Year’s holiday and an event at the Kanto Power Plant event, and an event that focuses upon Pokemon‘s diverse mountains, in addition to regular events such as Spotlight Hours and Community Days.
Niantic has hinted at the possibility that Team Rocket might finally start to play a role in Pokemon Go‘s Season of Heritage in the coming months, which means players could be required to assist Professor Willow fight whatever is at the bottom of the mysterious door.
The various Heritage events and the forthcoming Pokemon tour Johto is fantastic. However, there’s a promised event that hasn’t brought to the public’s attention at this point.
Since the beginning of time, Niantic has promised that Pokemon GO will introduce a new Pokemon into the games uniquely.
The missing Pokemon called Kecleon. It’s the adorable chameleon-like Color Swap Pokemon that made its debut in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.
Kecleon’s debut to Pokemon GO is long overdue, and players would like to know precisely what Niantic is thinking of.
There might not be space for Kecleon during the Season of Heritage. But I hope that Niantic doesn’t make players keep waiting for too long.
Kecleon’s Long-Term Absence
When Pokemon Go first launched in 2016, it was limited to the first 151 Pokemon from Kanto.
Kanto region, however, Niantic quickly began to expand.
As a result, at the end of 2017, Hoenn Pokemon were coming to Pokemon GO in a flurry and, within a short time, they were all part of the game.
However, one Pokemon was unobtainable in the Pokemon Go game: Kecleon.
So, players have been wondering their own and Niantic when they’ll be able to finish this Hoenn Pokedex.
An Pokemon Go datamine discovered in 2018 led some players to believe that Kecleon would be available shortly, but it never came to fruition.
As of now, it appears that the majority of Pokemon Go‘s regions have been able to join the game to some degree.
The game hundreds Pokemon are currently available and, even though the Pokedex isn’t complete, Pokemon GO keeps adding new Pokemon in the future.
For example, the game’s New Year’s loading screen indicates it is likely that Flabebe and Helioptile are expected to appear in Pokemon Go shortly, and that’s excellent news for Kalos fans of the region.
Of all the new updates, it’s odd that Kecleon hasn’t seen it in the game. So many years, more than a decade later.
Kecleon is the Hoenn region’s Pokedex supposed to finish at this point. But instead, Pokemon that come from Galar and Kalos continue to show up in the place of Kecleon.
Integrating Kecleon into Pokemon GO
The delay in its debut is likely related to its signature Ability. Color Change, which causes it to alter its nature to the moves it took damage from.
However, Pokemon Go does not have abilities; even as a unique mechanic, Color Change may be difficult to incorporate within Pokémon GO‘s rapid-paced combat.
Niantic might be able to find an answer, however.
Perhaps Kecleon will receive a unique mechanic closer to the Hidden Ability of Protean. Which will cause Kecleon’s Speed and Charged attacks to be the defining factor for its nature, not the opponent’s attack.
Kecleon is sure to be a significant enhancement in Pokémon GO if it can retain its distinctive type-changing characteristic somehow.
Suppose it can learn attacks from a variety of kinds. In that case, its value can be measured by its flexibility, allowing an additional Pokemon with a specific type to any Pokemon Go team.
At present, however, this potential benefit remains an unrealized dream.
“The Season of Heritage’s emphasis on the past and Pokemon secrets could suggest. That Kecleon will not reveal in the next season. Kecleon does not have any mythological lore to aid Professor Willow’s quest for the door that is elusive at all.
Perhaps, this means Kecleon will be part of 2022’s springtime rather. then bringing the wait at the end of two months.
Pokemon Go is available on Android as well as iOS devices.
