Immortals Fenyx Rising is free to play this weekend.
If you’re a little weary of the severity of medieval England in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, this weekend is your chance to try Ubisoft’s most whimsical version of the Assassin’s Creed open-world game formula. Immortals Fenyx Rising is free to play starting today through November 28.
In Immortals Fenyx Rising, you can explore a land filled with the creatures and personalities of Greek myth and legend, filtered through the sunny and colorful world of modern family animation.
As Iain Harris wrote in our review of Immortals Fenyx Rising, “tonally, we are in the ballpark of Disney’s Hercules.” You have an irascible Zeus who messes with Prometheus, who is taking over as narrator.
It’s packed with self-aware, referential humor, so it might not be attractive if that sort of thing isn’t to your liking. But as Iain writes, exploring their beautifully rendered world is consistently delightful.
However, Fenyx’s set of Icarus wings allows them to glide over the landscape to their heart’s content, as he searches for another god who has gotten into a bind.
Alright alright, here’s the launch trailer again.
