Age of Empires IV could be ported to the Xbox: It received nearly universal praise when Age of Empires IV came out last year.
Microsoft’s published RTS widely praised as a solid entry in the series and a welcome change.
Many fans are now wondering what the next chapter will bring.
It seems like the fourth installment in the series is leaping to console.
Twitter user @ALumia_Italia has discovered a new mention of the RTS.
This is because she uses the Insider Hub to track Microsoft codenames for everything, from new games to new builds Windows.
As you can see in the tweet below, they have discovered the codename “XIP_CAR_JANUARY_2022.”
@ALumia_Italia also points out that “CAR” is an abbreviation for Cardinal, which was Age of Empire IV’s codename.

They also speculated that XIP could be for Xbox Insider Program. This is the first time “XIP” has mentioned in conjunction with the codename.
The RTS was listed similarly to the tweet below.
Microsoft is not the first to port a game from PC or Xbox.
Last year, Microsoft’s Flight Simulator, Gears Tactics, and Gears Tactics were done.
Both were huge successes. This lateral move makes perfect sense, and it’s only a matter of time before we see the announcement.
