PUBG Battlegrounds is now free to play game: It’s been a long time coming. Finally, however, four years later, after the PUBG: Battlegrounds took the world by storm and launched the latest battle royale craze, the game will be for free to play.
Krafton has made the announcement was made during The Game Awards 2021. The free-to-play model will reward players who remain loyal to the game for a long time and offer exclusive incentives to attract new players.
However, it will provide a limited period for the final group of players who wish to buy the game to make the purchase before it can be removed from the stores.
Additionally, there will be a significant delay before the game can transition to free play.
PUBGL: Battlegrounds is scheduled to be free to play on the 12th of January 2022. If it does, then the BATTLEGROUNDS Plus game mode is available to purchase.

BATTLEGROUNDS Plus is a one-time $12.99 purchase, which will unlock ranked mode, the careers and medal tab, plus 100 percent Survival Mastery Boost and a Custom Match mode and many additional cosmetic items that are exclusive to BATTLEGROUNDS Plus. The PUBG Battlegrounds ends sales on the 10th of January 2022.
Legacy players on all platforms will be able to automatically receive a “Special Anniversary Pack” when the free-to-play conversion takes place. To earn these items, they will only need to purchase the game by the 10th of January 2022.
The process of earning items is different depending on the game’s platform. However, every player who qualifies will receive these items automatically.
In addition, those who bought the game PUBG: Battlegrounds earlier will be able to get a BATTLEGROUNDS Plus to upgrade at no cost.
Finally, in the case of Xbox and PlayStation players, Xbox Live and PlayStation Plus will no longer be required to play online multiplayer when the transition to free-to-play occurs.
