Microsoft has decided to discontinue the Xbox One: Following the shortage of supplies, Sony and Microsoft are employing different approaches to tackle the problem.

Sony’s strategy is the manufacturing of PlayStation 4 consoles. However, Microsoft doesn’t appear to worry about getting newer consoles to consumers. Instead, they’re focusing on the future.

Microsoft has officially ended the manufacture of its Xbox One consoles. However, it’s not just the Xbox One X that’s discontinue.

Xbox One X already identify as being taken off the market months before the Xbox Series X/S launch.

But, it wasn’t only the mid-gen refresh that suffered the same fate in 2020.

In a statement by The Verge, Senior Director of Xbox console marketing Cindy Walker said, “to focus on the production of Xbox Series X/S, we stopped production for all Xbox One consoles by the end of 2020.”

The next generation’s shift to production may help acquire one of the Xbox Series X easier in the coming year, but it was more challenging to locate on the market than the Xbox Series S.

This may be why Microsoft has been able to achieve this success, despite difficulties in satisfying demands.

The American console maker said the Xbox Series X/S was its most-seller console ever. That beat the first Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One within the initial 14 months.
