July 19 might bring new Red Dead Online content:  One of Rockstar’s greatest-ever successes is Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption broke several sales records shortly after its debut, selling an astounding 17 million copies in only two weeks to become one of the fastest-selling video game releases.

With RDR2’s success came Red Dead Online, which sees some player popularity while receiving little attention from Rockstar and harsh criticism from fans. Come to the end of July, and these guys could have something to look forward to.

Red Dead Online’s lack of content reveal in a cryptic tweet by Tez2, a dependable source for Rockstar Games leaks. Tez2 ominously provides us with the date July 19 and nothing more in a retweet of their meme post. A screencap from SpongeBob SquarePants ridiculing RDO’s lack of content with the tagline “soon.”

We may infer from the context of the tweet that Tez2 was adding that we could be receiving some additional RDO material on this day.

This day marks the conclusion of GTA Online’s current update schedule. This may indicate a change in Rockstar’s online teams’ priorities from GTA Online to Red Dead Online.

Encouraging users to play both online games could also imply that Rockstar intended to deliver fresh content when GTA Online’s popularity was expected to decline.

This follows Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, expressing his support for the #SaveRedDeadOnline initiative. “Rockstar Games speaks about the changes that are coming. And we’re working on an awful lot at Rockstar Games,” Zelnick remarked in a formal press conference.

I’ve heard their annoyance, and it’s gratifying that people want more material. Rockstar will have more to say soon.
