Now, a Guerrilla Games developer is promising a Horizon Forbidden West sequel. Horizon Forbidden West picks up a few months after the first events.

Mathijs de Jonge, Game Director of Horizon Forbidden West, talks about the Game’s ending with VG247. He said the Horizon series is about solving riddles from the past and present. He also cites Guerrilla Games’ ability to build fresh puzzles and narratives based on the past. It ends on a cliffhanger, and Mathijs reveals the team is using it to set up the next Game.
Horizon Zero Dawn has sold over 20 million units for PS4 and PC. So it’s no surprise Guerrilla Games will keep making games in this series. But there’s no word on when fans might expect the sequel. Notably, Horizon Zero Dawn’s The Frozen Wilds expansion had a similar excellent review later in 2017. Guerilla Games may decide to create such an extension for Horizon Forbidden West to bridge the gap between the mainstream games.
A recent rumor revealed some of Guerrilla Games’ upcoming projects. Sources claim that it’s a new SOCOM game. According to the source, the horizon will be a trilogy, and Sony considers it a significant franchise. It also mentions a VR spinoff called Horizon Call of the Mountain and an online game similar to the Monster Hunter series. While every leak should treat with caution, these look believable.
Forbidden West is now on PS4 and PS5.
