Fans are shocked by Lost Ark’s bot population: Bots have plagued Lost Ark‘s servers, generating waits and pushing market prices. Fans criticize it. Some lines reached 10,000+ gamers, while Smilegate RPG praised its “800,000 concurrent players.”
Some players waited almost two hours in a 10,000-person line, apparently owing to bots.
Community Manager Shadow Fox said changes wouldn’t happen immediately to calm gamers, but they’re still threatening chargebacks and bad reviews. Shadow Fox clarified in the later discussion that Steam reviews aren’t use for feedback.
A recent news article from Smilegate RPG said that the Steam version of Lost Ark had over 800,000 concurrent players following a large-scale update, attributing the game’s immense popularity to the release of the Valtan raid. Fans think a large amount of the company’s number is bots.
Bots harvest game materials and accessories, sell them on the market, and produce gold for other players. This gold acquired cheaply via “RMT.”
Community Manager MinerTarv said, “I see your displeasure and why you want to make cheaters experience fear, but no kingdom controlled via terror is a kingdom worth governing.”
Bot countermeasures are unsuccessful. Queue times worry fans about the game’s future. Smilegate RPG should integrate anti-bot measures shortly.
