Elden Ring fans want to witness the Malenia boss battle in Sekiro:  Malenia, Blade ofMiquella is one of Elden Ring‘s most severe bosses, yet few have received as much attention. She’s tough to beat even without the healing bug, which was thankfully solved in a patch.

She’s fierce, but she’s also a well-built boss who may or may not be playing the wrong game.

At least, that’s how ResetEra forum user SofNascimento feels. The thread’s headline states, “Malenia would the finest boss From ever designe…if she was in the fair game.”

Although transposing bosses isn’t new to FromSoftware fans, there is a case to make for it. For example, Malenia would better serve in Sekiro, according to SofNascimento: Twice Do Shadows Die.

The first is her assault flow, or “cadence.” Malenia, like many of Sekiro’s sword-wielding monsters, has a distinct cadence to her assaults, according to SofNascimento. However, the Waterfowl Dance, an anime-inspired flurry of slashes she performs while hopping about the arena, is an exception.

SofNascimento points out how similar this strike is to one from Sekiro’s Isshin Ashina battle. Deflecting that seems like a lot of fun, and doing it against the Waterfowl Dance would be even better. This point has received a lot of support in the conversation.

SofNascimento’s final remark, in a similar spirit, is that Sekiro’s deflections and parries would be more effective against Malenia. They visualize how a perfect parry may deflect her strike and prevent her from taking any lives. Even if you’re blocking, she may still drain your HP.

Finally, SofNascimento thinks Melania’s second phase in Sekiro would be an even greater mix-up. Her Scarlet Rot attack would add another layer to Sekiro’s typical counterattacks, requiring you to avoid the rotting region before delivering damage.

SofNascimento’s article is well-thought-out, and something similar may accomplish with modifications. Garden of Eyes, a YouTuber, has previously faced Malenia against every major monster in Elden Ring, so bringing her into Sekiro looks feasible.
