God of War is already a huge hit on Steam: PC gamers have been excited to play the remake of the year’s God of War ever since its announcement.
The action-adventure title hasn’t let us down and is currently sporting a Metacritic rating of 93. This makes it the most reviewed PC game this year.
The combination of excitement and reviews has produced impressive players’ numbers.
Since January 16, God of War has attained a maximum of 73,529 gamers on Steam, beating the previous record for the number of players on a PlayStation exclusive, previously set by Horizon Zero Dawn.
This vast number also puts the game in the top 11 spots in the Steam Charts. Which is currently ahead of the massive titles like Destiny 2 and Team Fortress 2.
If that’s not enough, the game also has eight times more players than 2021’s Battlefield 2042.
The vast popularity should not just blamed on hype or scores on reviews. Instead, the developers should give massive praise for focusing on the PC user community and the functions they care about the most.
The adaptation from God of War without ultra-wide monitor support. And other graphics options might not have received the same response.
Thus it is a good thing If Sony continues to learn what PC gamers are looking for and what they want. They should be able to expect continued good results in the PC market.
It appears that the popularity enjoyed by God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. That hasn’t affected Sony’s plan for the next.
When asked whether God of War: Ragnarok is coming to PC in the same timeframe. As it’s the previous game, Sony Santa Monica Creative Director Cory Barlog said, “I don’t know. At the moment, we’re just taking one step at a time .”
